Mo’Nique’s Fat Chance was a reality TV miniseries. It featured 10 plus-sized women competing in a beauty pageant to become "Miss F.A.T.," which is explained as "Fabulous and Thick." It is hosted by actress Mo’Nique and has aired since 2005 on the Oxygen network.
One person, in particular, attacked Mo’Nique’s sensibilities in the crudest way imaginable, straight up calling her “fat and sloppy.” The commenter goes on to demand Richard Simmons, the famous fitness guru, to help this “sexy pig.”
It was really nice to finally see a movie where the lead actress was not a size 2. What a refreshing change this was and I only wish it had been a bigger box office success so more people had a chance to see it and learn the message in here.
